STAGES AND PHASES OF FIRE
There are four stages of a fire. These stages are taught to firefighters to identify a fire’s location and act accordingly.
Once the firefighters have assessed the fire’s stage, they can respond accordingly. The figure below will be discussed slowly in our video presentation (HRR means heat release rate).
Depending on the stage that the fire is in, firefighters can assess:
- What the fire is likely to do and how they expect it to progress.
- How much risk does it pose to firefighters and civilians?
- What is the best way to extinguish the fire?
All those questions can be answered by watching the VIDEO presentation below.
