The Cybercrime

THE CYBERCRIMES A.K.A TECHNOLOGY CRIMES

Any illegal act involving a computer is referred to as a computer crime. Cybercrime refers to online or Internet-based illegal acts. All cybercrimes are also computer crimes, however not all computer crimes are cybercrimes. In other words, computer crimes are crimes that can be committed through the use of a computer that has nothing to do with the internet.

Computer crimes, cyber-crimes, and Internet crimes can be “pre-computer” crimes that existed before the advent of the computer, meaning there are already conventional crimes where the computer is used such as the following:

[1] embezzlement,

[2] fraud,

[3] financial scams,

[4] identity theft,

[5] stalking, etc.

However, with the advanced technology introduced coupled with programs and software that can be used to penetrate with an intent to copy, take, destroy, manipulate and create interferences that are harmful to one’s computer data, or system (whether the individual, institution or company or government) through cyberspace, CYBERCRIMES to cyberwar becomes a concern to all parties.
