INDUSTRIAL SECURITY CONCEPTS

Course Description

Industrial Security Concepts covers the study of the concepts and principles of industrial security. It includes the role of the security profession in protecting the life and assets of any industry that belongs to a public and private entity. It also entails detective work involving threats, risk, and crisis incidents, including investigation of crimes, procedures on arrest, search, and seizures in security, safety, and protection. Applicable laws and concepts in security and public safety formed parts of this study.

The Professional Regulatory Board for Criminology specifically prescribed the following as a guide for learners` competency:

1. State and apply the theories, concepts, and philosophy of security and safety;
2. Organize and assess the related laws in security and detective agency operations, management, and administration;
3. Translate and construct the basic industrial security concepts of security survey, security plan, security test and evaluation, personnel check, technical surveillance, and security management.
